Christine Borgohain is a software engineer and an officer in Ministry of Indian Railways. She has had no formal training in art. Art came naturally to Christine, having spent her childhood admiring the paintings of her uncles and aunt adorning the walls of her family home. However, she started taking up art seriously , just 10 years back. Christine experimented, mostly in black and white portraiture, with Charcoal being her favourite medium. The comfort of Black and White just drew her in. But it is rightly said that art depicts the state of mind of the artist. Being in a difficult place in life back then, the simplicity of the black and white nature of her art provided her the much needed strength and comfort.
She has been experimenting in Charcoal, acrylic, oils, pastels and ball pen. Her recent paintings are mostly in acrylics, exploring vibrant colours and scenes depicting flora and fauna. She has been part of several group shows in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
