Jyoti C Singh Deo is a Bangalore based Artist. She has been working on the
stories of coal mines and the life around it, as she grew witnessing them.

She has translated these stories into paintings and installations. Her paintings have a large essence of light and shadow and she plays with shades of black inspired by coal and its landscape.

She has travelled widely across India and has taught in various schools and colleges across the country and was also a journalist for a few years. That helped her in conceptualizing stories and translating them into art.
