Description
The Buddha is sometimes depicted sitting on a Lotus flower, symbolizing the one who
overcame the pain of the material world and became enlightened; just like the Lotus which,
though born in the dirty and muddy water, manages to become a beautiful flower.
Cherry blossom flowers are symbolic of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of
life. The latter strongly relates to Buddhist ideals that refer to the transience and fragility of
human life, emphasizing the importance of being mindful and living in the present.
